From the rolling plains of the Northwest area of Missouri to the banks of the
Mississippi, to the rolling mountains of the Ozarks, you are sure to find a State Parks
and activity to meet your every outdoor need. Lakes abound throughout the State
for the fisherman and water enthusiast. Boating, swimming, canoeing, sailing, and
camping on the shore of a lake makes the Missouri State Parks renowned for its
water features. State Parks in the Ozarks in the Southern part of the State are
secluded from the hustle and bustle of city life, but close enough to enjoy the tourist
attractions of Branson and Springfield. The State Park System is divided into six
regions with ample camping facilities in each region.

Kansas City Region - - There are
five State Parks and four
historical sites in this region. If
you love nature and wildlife, this
area is for you.
Northeast Region - - Rolling hills,
forests, and lakes highlight this
area. Perfect for hiking, camping,
and water sports.
Central Region - - Native
American history, hiking and
biking trails, and geological
wonders are the featured
attractions of this region.
St. Louis Region - - Where the
Missouri meets the Mississippi.
This region is close to the
metropolitan areas, but in a short
drive you will be in the heart of
nature's beauty
.
Lakes Region - - Lakes and hills
with forests and rolling meadows
encompasses this region. Fishing,
camping, and hiking is available in
all State Parks of this region.
Southeast Region - - The most
rugged and scenic part of the
State. Also the most State parks
of any region. Mountains and
forests are the focal point of this
area with the chance to get away
from it all in the wilderness
