List of KENTUCKY State Parks

Kentucky has been said to have he best State Park program in the country. The Park
System is divided into three categories:
1. State Resort Parks - - Beautiful lodges and cozy cabins await those who visit the
Resort Parks. All the amenities of quality lodging located in some of the most beautiful
parts of the State of Kentucky. A wide range of activities are available in the Resort
Parks and any outdoor activity from an enjoyable round of golf to a leisurely walk along
the nature trails can be found at these Resort areas. Most of Kentucky's Resort Parks
also offer RV camping sites with full hook-up.
2. State Historic Parks - - From the birthplaces of Daniel Boone and Jefferson Davis
to the historic coal mining past, Kentucky's Historic Parks will offer you a picture into
the past. Beautifully maintained, these parks make for a perfect way to spend a day
learning about the heritage of Kentucky. Civil War battlegrounds and historic
American Indian villages can be found at the Historic Parks.
3. State Recreation Parks - - Golfing, camping, hiking, fishing, picnics, and water
sports are but a few of the many outdoor activities you will find in the State's Recreation
Parks. Camping facilities for RV's and tents with modern showers, fire pits, and picnic
tables are located in nearly all of the Recreation Parks. If boating is your choice, the
many lakes located throughout the State offer great possibilities for catching that prize
winning bass or bluegill, swimming, water skiing, or recreational boating. Horse lovers
will find many equestrian trails as well a camping facilities with horse stalls.
