Illinois State Park System has something for you.. Divided into 5 regions (each
region has Parks, natural areas, conservation areas, recreations areas, and fish
and wildlife area), The Park System strives to balance the need to protect the
beauty of the environment and the recreational needs of its citizens.  Click on a
region listed below for a complete listing of the facilities and services offered by

Northwest
The rolling plains of the northwest regions and
the several parks along the Illinois and
Mississippi Rivers makes this the perfect get away
for those who love outdoor activities such as
hunting, horseback riding, fishing, hiking, etc..  If
you like

Northeast
Lakes abound in this region of the Illinois Sate
Parks system.  From the shores of Lake Michigan
to the pristine lakes along the Fox Fiver, one can
find fun filled activities for the whole family.  The
natural beauty of many of the hiking  trails in
region 2 makes it ideal for the nature lover.

East Central
You are truly in the Land of Lincoln when you
visit the East Central region of the Illinois Parks
System.  From the historical first Illinois home of
Lincoln to the Indian villages along the lakes, here
you will find activities for a day's outing or for an
extended stay at one of the many camping sites.

West Central
There are only a few State parks in this region
(primarily along the Mississippi), however you
can find many wildlife areas  as well a recreation
areas.  Lakes and ponds for fishing and meadows
and rolling hills for a non stress hikes.

South
Lakes, lakes, and more lakes in the South Region
of the Illinois State Park System.  There are
recreation and wildlife areas with camping,
boating fishing, and hiking as the primary
activities.
