List of GEORGIA State Parks
THE PICNIC PLACEMAT
Georgia has 42 unique State Parks and several Historical Sites in its State Parks
System. Regardless of your interests, the State Parks of Georgia will have
something for you. Ranging from the Atlantic coast to the Blue Ridge Mountains,
the scenic beauty and historical landmarks are scattered throughout the State.
Georgia Department of Natural Resources has divided up
the State Park System into three areas. Each area is unique
in its topography and historical significance. Almost all of
the State parks have camping facilities. See individual State
Park for campsite sizes, services, and restrictions. The
Georgia State Park System handles their own reservations.
Northern
The Blue Ridge Mountain is the centerpiece of the
Northern area. Hiking trail, biking, lakes, and historical
tours make this area a true vacation destination.
Southeast
If you enjoy the coastal waters and beaches, the Southeast
area is for you. Inland parks have all the activities and
facilities to make your trip an enjoyable experience. Don't
forget the State Golf Courses throughout the State
Southwest
From colonial times, to Indian wars, to the Civil War, the
Southwest area a loaded with historical sites. The State
Parks are conveniently located near these areas. If you
enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, boating,
biking, etc., then the Southwest area will have what you are
looking for.
